The King of Fruits
Durian
Southeast Asia’s king of fruits, the durian, is known to be the smelliest fruit, but it has a mildly sweet and creamy flesh. The fruit does not contain any cholesterol but is a great source of dietary fiber and protein. Durian can be eaten with several foods such as sticky rice, ice-cream, chips, coffee, Cake, Puff, Cendol, Fried Durian Fritters etc.
Also fondly referred to as “the smelliest fruit in the world”, the durian is famous for its pungent smell and creamy taste! So much so, that some variants of durian like the “Musang King” is one of the most expensive fruits on the planet!
It is banned from many public places like hotels, stations, and hospitals because it is said the strong smell can cause discomfort to some. But to many Southeast Asian people (and many many other foreigners), durian can be a source of addiction!
